The bear walked north and left the area; there were no injuries or reported damage, and a follow-up investigation by Sapporo city found no tracks or other traces.

At around 18:10 on March 26, a single brown bear was sighted crossing a road from the mountain side to the residential side in Miyanomori 4-jo, Chuo Ward, Sapporo. The bear was estimated at about 1.5–2.0 meters in length; there were no injuries, but footprints believed to be from a brown bear were found nearby. Police are patrolling the area and advising residents to be cautious.
