Two bears about 1 m long (not a parent and child; possibly two juvenile bears) ran from the east-side mountain down to the Osawa River, then returned to the mountain. On the morning of April 23 another bear was also seen in the same way, so there may be a settled population in the area.

A bear about 1.2 meters long was occupying the forest road. It did not run away when we shouted loudly; when we rang a bell it fled into the woodland on the north side.
