Around 11:00 on November 19, 2025, two bears believed to be a parent and cub appeared in the farmland area of the Hiroshima City Youth Outdoor Activity Center. Staff used a car horn to drive them off; the two returned to the mountain, no injuries were reported, but four of seven planned elementary school outdoor learning sessions were canceled or postponed.

Around 11:00 on the 19th, a contractor's staff member at the Hiroshima City Youth Outdoor Activity Center (Kodomo-mura) found a cub leaning against a dead tree on the site. When they sounded a car horn to drive it off, the adult bear appeared and the two bears headed back into the mountain; the center closed nearby farms and does not plan to reopen them this year.
