On Sunday, June 28 at approximately 3:40 p.m., on the Ouchi–Aizu-Takada prefectural road in Ouchi Yaku-mizu area, Shimogō Town, a witness (woman in her 70s) saw a single bear (about 1 m in body length) sitting on the road while driving. The bear then left toward the woods to the north.

On Thursday, June 25 at approximately 1:45 p.m., a witness (male, in his 50s) driving a vehicle observed one bear (about 50 cm in length) in the forested area of Hiwada, Higashiogi, Aizumisato Town. The bear left the area heading east into the forest, and its subsequent whereabouts are unknown.

On June 8 (Monday) at around 12:15 PM, on Prefectural Route Shimogō-Aizuhongō in Ōuchi, Shimogō Town, a witness (male in his 40s) observed, while driving, a single bear (approximately 50 cm in length) coming down from the forest beside the road. The bear attempted to climb the rockfall-prevention wire mesh but noticed the approaching vehicle and returned to the forest.
