Kaseki Yama

Around 11:00 on the 8th, a 69-year-old man from Morioka fell waist-deep into a snow hole near the 5th station of the Iwakami-yama trail in Kugai, Miyako City, and was bitten on the left calf by an adult bear inside the hole. The man escaped on his own, and his companions drove the bear off with trekking poles; he sustained minor injuries with an estimated recovery of about two weeks.
