Around 09:30 on April 25, 2026, four bears were sighted in Inawashiro Town, Tamayoshi Honari-otsu (near Tatsuzawa Fudo Falls); passersby observed them up in a tree. No damage to people or property has been confirmed so far; the police have warned residents and, in coordination with the town office, have stepped up patrols.

Around 7:30 AM on October 25, in Nihonmatsu City near Adatara Mountain Shizoe Trail, the witness observed three bears on the trail: one about 1.5 m long and two about 1 m long. The bears then climbed a nearby tree.
