Around 14:00 on April 2, in the riverbed of Terasawa River near the Enokida housing complex in Minobu Town, Yamanashi Prefecture, a man walking his dog spotted a small bear about 80 cm long and reported it to the town office. The town issued warnings via disaster radio, coordinated patrols with police, used fireworks to drive the bear away, and patrolled by drone, but the bear was not found.
