At about 7:20 a.m. on December 16, 2025, one bear was sighted on the grounds of a group home in Saruzawa, Murakami City, Niigata Prefecture, and reported to the police. The sighting occurred in a residential area; police notified the city office and are patrolling the vicinity to keep watch.
