Around 07:40 on November 19 a bear was sighted near Ippongi Shrine in Tokiwa, Omachi; around the same time sightings were reported along the Takase River and near a golf practice range in the Sha area of a cub. Police and city staff patrolled but did not locate the bear, and no injuries have been reported.

On November 6 a cub about 50 cm long was found in brush about 100 meters east of Azumi-Kutsukake Station in Omachi, Nagano. City staff captured the cub with a net shortly before 2:00 PM; there were no reported damages and experts plan to sedate it with a dart gun and release it into the mountains.
