On June 24 (Wednesday) at around 9:50 a.m., on Route 399 in Inai Shishinai, Moniwa, Iizaka-machi, Fukushima City (near the north side of Surikamigawa Dam Nashidaira Park), a witness (male, in his 30s) while driving observed two bears on Route 399 (one approximately 1 m in body length, the other approximately 50 cm). The two bears then left toward the forest on the north side of the road. As of now there have been no property or personal injuries.

At around 10:15 on April 14, a man walking along National Route 399 in Moniwa, Iizaka, Fukushima City, sighted one bear about 0.5 m long. No damage has been reported; police patrolled the area by patrol car and, in cooperation with Fukushima City Hall, warned residents.
