On May 31 (Sunday) at around 3:55 PM, in the mountainside forest at Yumoto Futamata, Ten'ei Village, a witness driving a village road from south to north spotted one bear (about 1 m in body length) in the mountain forest on the west side of the road. The bear lingered in that area for about 10 minutes and then walked away.

On Sunday, May 31 at around 9:20 a.m., in a forested area (Shimofutamata) of Yumoto, Tenei Village, a man in his 70s (Mr. A), a resident of Minamiaizu Town, was attacked by one bear and sustained injuries to the right side of his face and other areas. His injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Around 6:35 PM on October 14, on National Route 118 in Shimo-Gowe Town, the witness driving from west to east observed a bear about 1 m crossing the road from south to north. The bear then ran into the woods to the west; its subsequent whereabouts are unknown.
