On Thursday, June 25 at approximately 1:45 p.m., a witness (male, in his 50s) driving a vehicle observed one bear (about 50 cm in length) in the forested area of Hiwada, Higashiogi, Aizumisato Town. The bear left the area heading east into the forest, and its subsequent whereabouts are unknown.

On Wednesday, June 24 at approximately 7:03 p.m., in the Yabari area of Shimogō Town on Prefectural Route Toaka-Eitomi, a witness (male in his 60s) who was driving eastbound on the road spotted one bear (about 1 m in length) lying on the roadway. The bear ran into the forested area to the north and its subsequent whereabouts are unknown.
