On May 8, 2026, from around 07:30 for about 1.5 hours, a bear approximately 1.2 meters long stayed in a tree in the parking lot of the Aeon Nakasen store in Kita-Nagano Hakamada, Daisen City, Akita Prefecture. After police officers spotted the bear, it wandered through nearby rice fields and then left toward the west (Tamagawa); police patrolled by patrol car and warned residents.

Posted: From inside a private car, witnessed in the front parking area of Ion Nakasen store, heading north toward the Petras site from near Donparu area by the Civic Hall; other cars honked. Its length was not clear in the dark but appeared to be about 50 cm to 1.0 m. Departure direction unknown.
