Police arrived but the bear had already disappeared; Meitoku Elementary School was about 40 meters away, and the Akita Central Police urged nearby residents and schools to be cautious.

Police confirmed additional sightings nearby and reported another bear sighting around 06:50 near the edge of the park and residential area, urging residents to be cautious.
