No human or property damage has been confirmed so far; the scene is about 500 meters from a beach and other sightings have been reported, so the police are urging caution.

In response, the city closed facilities including the Kitaizumi Seaside General Park campsite, and on May 10 and 11 there were three additional sighting reports on prefectural roads in Kamikitakahira, Haramachi Ward.
