Around 17:00 on the 8th, a resident spotted one brown bear approximately 1 meter long near the national road in Kiyohama, Soya-mura, Wakkanai City, and reported it to the Wakkanai police. According to the city, there were no tracks or other signs. The site was behind the Daiichi Kiyohama Hall, about 50 meters from the nearest house and about 500 meters from Soya Junior High.
