Before 7:00 on December 9, 2025, a bear running on a road near Shinshu Matsumoto Airport in Sasaga, Matsumoto City, was captured on a dashboard camera and reported; police also observed a bear-like figure. Authorities searched nearby woodlands but found no tracks or other signs, and no damage to people or crops has been confirmed. Five sightings were reported over the past three days, and a capture trap is planned to be set.
