Around 16:00 on January 22, a man in his 50s sighted a single bear about 1 meter long on private residential grounds in Suzumerin, Aizumisato Town (Aza Kamikashiji). No human or property damage was reported; police are conducting patrols and public announcements in coordination with the town office.

At around 15:50 on the 17th, a man in his 40s reported to the town office that he had sighted a single bear about 0.5 meters long running around the parking lot of a nursing care facility in Tsurunobe Aza Hirocho, Aizumisato. The bear ran around the parking lot and then fled to the west; Shintsuru Elementary and Shintsuru Junior High, located about 100 meters away, canceled dismissal and handed students directly to their guardians.
