The bears left the scene; police patrolled for about an hour and no further sightings were reported.

At around 21:30 on the 6th, a driver passing by reported seeing a single bear about 1.5 m long eating vegetation in roadside grass near the "Sendai Castle Ruins Minami" bus stop, roughly 160 m southwest of Sendai Castle in Kawauchi, Aoba Ward. When police arrived the bear had left the site; officers are patrolling the area and no damage or injuries have been reported.
