Around 07:00 on December 4, 2025, a single bear about 80 cm long was sighted on the hillside behind houses in Yura, Tsuruoka City, and then moved south. On the previous day (Dec 3) at around 14:30, a bear of similar size was also seen on a slope along a prefectural road in the same Yura area.
