On 2019-07-27 in Rausu Town, Hokkaido, a male brown bear called "Rushataro"—the individual that attacked eight pet dogs—was tracked and confronted up close by Rausu town official and veteran hunter Michihiro Tazawa. During the pursuit, Rushataro appeared on a steep slope and charged, showing dangerous behavior.
