On 2025-11-10, a report of a "bear-like animal" was made at fields in Mukojima Kurobocho, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto. Police and ward staff inspected the site for 2–3 hours, found no tracks or droppings, and a reenactment showed that a person standing about 600–700 meters from the observer had been mistaken for a bear.
