At around 17:20 on February 9, 2026, two bear-like animals were sighted near Nishinagaoka-cho in Ota City. The area is where Ota Futaba Country Club and Hachioji-yama Cemetery are located, with the Kita-Kanto Expressway running to the south.

At around 06:45 on the morning of the 21st, a single bear cub was sighted on the grounds of a company near Route 50 in Hirozawa-cho 5-chome, Kiryu City. Shortly after 08:00 another animal believed to be a bear was observed near Matsubara Bridge in Hirozawa-cho 6-chome; the city considers these sightings since the 20th to be the same individual and has stepped up patrols.
