Sakuranomiya Park has been hearing fresh bear trouble from Minoh Gein 3-chome on April 19, 2026, when 1 black bear stood halfway up a slope beside flowing water and answered with a low growl while watching a person pass below. Just nine days earlier, on April 10, 2026, another 1 black bear came down from the hill beside the pond in Heguri Midorigaoka 6-chome, closed to about 5 meters, and then ran off after a shouted warning.
The heaviest activity has clustered around Ibaraki City, especially Ibaraki Uenocho, with other repeated reports in Ikoma, Ikeda, Saito, Heguri, and Minoh. The pace has been strongest in April 2026, and the area has recorded 21 black bear sightings overall, with reports also showing up in September 2024, October 2024, and again in October 2023 and July 2023.
