Around 20:30 on July 16, a bear was sighted in Higashinozoe Takeda, Kuroishi City, Aomori, and was seen moving.

While riding a motorcycle at about 5 km/h from the highway underpass toward Tsurugasaka Yamamoto, a bear emerged from the brush about 10 meters to my right, ran across the road in front of me, and entered the brush on the left. Its subsequent whereabouts are unknown.

Reflected eyes were seen in an apple orchard and a beast’s growl was heard. The species, body length, and direction of escape are unknown. When the city checked the scene, footprints of a four-legged animal (such as a raccoon) were found in a nearby field. No signs of an Asiatic black bear (Tsukinowaguma) were found.

While traveling on Apple Road from the Self-Defense Forces direction toward Shimoyunoguchi, I witnessed one cub (about 50–60 cm in length) emerge from the woods near Hirosaki City Cemetery Park, run alongside my car for a short time, and then re-enter the woods.
