In Hachinohe's Okubo, a bear was filmed shortly after 1:00 PM putting its paws on a fence along the grounds of a school. Between about 10:30 AM on April 28 and before 8:00 AM on April 29 there were five sightings in the Kanahama and Okubo areas; the prefecture has issued an Asiatic black bear advisory and urged people not to approach.

The bear headed toward the road and then entered the bushes; the area near the scene includes a junior high school, high school, and university.
