Around 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, near Ashinakoutei, Odon-cho, Aizu-Wakamatsu City, an eyewitness (a male in his teens) saw a single bear resting on a tree at the sighting site (approximately 70 cm in body length). The bear's subsequent movements are unknown.

On January 29 (Thursday) at around 4:15 p.m., in Ashimaki area, Oto-machi, Aizuwakamatsu City, a witness (woman in her 70s) saw one bear (about 1 m in length) walking near the sighting location. The bear then fled into the mountains to the east; its subsequent movements are unknown.

Around 10:45 p.m. on November 15, on National Route 118 in Otō Town, Aizu-Wakamatsu City, a witness in their 30s driving south saw a bear about 1 m cross the road eastward, but could not avoid it; the bear then escaped into the eastern forest. Vehicle front-end damage occurred.
