On Thursday, June 11 at approximately 2:55 a.m., on National Route 13 in Funaba-cho, Fukushima City, a witness (male in his 20s) driving a vehicle observed one animal believed to be a bear crossing the road (about 50 cm in body length). There were no human injuries or property damage.

On the morning of the 29th, a single adult bear estimated at about 1.5 m in length was repeatedly sighted in central Fukushima City around Moriai Maeda and Soneda. Police and city officials are patrolling the area and no injuries have been reported.
