Around 10:00 on November 23, 2025, a resident out running spotted a bear about 70 cm long near Hosenji Temple (Chichibu 24th site) in Bessho, Chichibu City. It is likely a cub, and nearby residents have been urged to stay alert.

Around 17:00 on November 19, 2025, a park user reported sighting a bear-like animal near Muse no Izumi in Chichibu Muse Park, Tamura, Chichibu City. The site is concrete-paved with no footprints found; in August a beehive was found destroyed nearby and wild boar or deer cannot be ruled out, so the city has urged caution.
