At around 11:20 on November 16, a single bear cub about 80–83 cm long entered the Aeon Noshiro store in Yanagimachi, Noshiro City. Employees confined it near the furniture/bedding section, no customers or staff were injured, and later in the afternoon prefectural staff anesthetized and captured it and it was subsequently euthanized on site.
