Kounai Fureai Hiroba

Around 09:00 on May 16, 2026, the owner found about 60 kg of rice bran eaten in a warehouse in Kuchinai-cho, Kitakami City; the warehouse door was broken and droppings believed to be from a bear were left inside. Police believe a bear broke into the warehouse and are investigating, urging nearby residents to be cautious.
