[Post] While driving from Tatenomaru Shokudo in Akita City toward Hamada, I saw a bear near the foot of Mt. Omoriyama trying to come onto the road. It noticed the car, stayed on guard, and disappeared into the bushes. Sorry, no dashcam. Body length about 1 m.

Around 08:30 on the 18th, an about 1.2-meter-long bear was spotted on a city road in Omoriyama, Hamada, Akita City by an elderly man in his 80s working in the fields. The Akita Central Police stated the nearest house was about 60 meters away; patrol cars warned residents, and the zoo increased in-park announcements and firecracker use, stepped up staff patrols, and switched automatic doors to manual operation.

[Report] From the meadow in the area that used to be a cemetery (seaside side), it crossed the road, passed through houses, and headed into the mountains (mountainous area on the bypass road side). A nearby resident witnessed this.
