In Hiroshima City, Asaminami Ward, there were reports of two bears sighted in the afternoon of the 12th. Police are warning residents. According to the police and Asaminami Ward Office, around 6:20 PM on the 12th there were sightings of an adult bear and a cub in Yamamoto-cho, Asaminami Ward. Also, around 4:45 PM, in a park in Nishi Ward at Koji Osako, a nearby witness reported seeing two cub bears.

Around 18:20 on the 12th, someone reported seeing an adult and a young bear (one each) on a municipal road in Yamamoto-cho, Asaminami Ward; officials surveyed the area on the 14th but found no bear traces. Separately, shortly before 17:00 the same day, a report came from a park in Koi-Osako, Nishi Ward of two small bears; no bear traces were found there either, though wild boar tracks were discovered.
