On November 12, 2025, footprints believed to be from a bear and claw marks on a persimmon tree, along with persimmon damage, were found in a field in Sakuragari, Kodate, Aomori City and reported to authorities on November 14. The site is a field about 300 meters west of the Aomori Komakino Ruins Preservation Center; the city urges people to report sightings or tracks and not to leave food waste outdoors.
