Mount Ichimichi

Encountered while ascending the left fork of the Yazawa-Kumakura River, a tributary of the Minami-Akishikawa (stream climbing). While resting, it attempted to descend from the slope to the stream bed. When I shouted “Hey! Hey!” to intimidate it, it flinched, noticed me, and ran off toward the ridge.

In Hachioji (Kamiongatamachi), Tokyo, a sensor camera installed by a resident captured two Asian black bears (believed to be a mother and cub) at around 18:35 on May 17. The city set box traps near the site and warned that mother bears can become aggressive when protecting their cubs.
