On May 5 in Higashiyuri Hounai, Yurihonjo City, a 48-year-old man inspecting rice paddies was attacked by a bear and suffered injuries to his face and right arm. He drove himself to a nearby shop to seek help and was airlifted by doctor helicopter to a hospital in Akita City. Police patroled the area near Higashiyuri Elementary School, which restricted outdoor activities and held PE indoors, and Yurihonjo City set two box traps near the incident site.

Because last week fruit was harvested within range, persimmon leaves remained, so the upper fruit couldn't be seen, and it did not climb the tree and left.
