Around 1 PM on June 20, a bear was sighted moving in Minamitemmakan, Shichinohe Town, Aomori Prefecture.

While picking up balls during a part-time job at Nashi-no-Ki Golf Garden, I witnessed a young bear (cub) crossing right in front of me. This happened last Thursday. I have confirmed the sounds of a cub several times at the same time of day in the past. I tried posting about it several times before, but it didn’t seem to go through, so although some time has passed since the sighting, I’ll try again.

A fisherman spotted a swimming bear in Mutsu Bay, Aomori Prefecture; the hunters' association boarded a fishing boat and culled the bear at sea. The individual was an adult male approximately 1.5 m long and around 140 kg in weight.

A 57-year-old ramen shop employee was attacked by a bear on November 9, 2025; he fought back, striking the bear and throwing it with an 'o-soto-gari' judo throw to repel it. He suffered a fracture around his right flank and facial bleeding; he described the bear as looking like a 'log.'

Around 06:20, a high school student on the way to school sighted an unspecified-size bear parent and cub near a residence by the Kobato-Tatematsu bus stop. Town staff, Goshogawara police officers, and members of the hunters' association conducted joint patrols and issued notices via the disaster wireless system after the report.
