On May 15 in the Atami Elementary area of Atami-machi, Koriyama City, there were two bear sightings. Around 07:00 a bear about 0.5 m long was seen running from a field into the forest in Takadama Asozawa, and at 09:15 another bear about 1 m long was seen crossing the JR Ban'etsu West Line tracks in Takadama Hirabayashi. The Koriyama North Police are on alert.

On 2025-11-21 at about 08:40 in Tamagawa Asozawa, Atami (Kōriyama City), Fukushima, a bear about 1 meter long was seen in a persimmon tree eating persimmons. About three hours later at 11:40 another similar bear was sighted in the same area. No injuries have been reported. Police have informed Kōriyama city and a nearby junior high school and are conducting patrols in the area.
