On January 29 (Thursday) at around 4:15 p.m., in Ashimaki area, Oto-machi, Aizuwakamatsu City, a witness (woman in her 70s) saw one bear (about 1 m in length) walking near the sighting location. The bear then fled into the mountains to the east; its subsequent movements are unknown.

Around 1:45 AM on October 21, in Kokuma? Onoza, Shimo-gō Town, while driving on Route 118 from Aizu-Wakamatsu toward Minami-Aizu, two bears (about 1 m and about 50 cm) crossed the road from west to east near the witness. The bears then ran toward the east to the river; their subsequent movements are unknown.
