I did not see the bear. While descending from Kintoki-yama toward Otome Pass, about 200 m from Nagao-yama on the map, I found bear scat larger than a clenched fist. About 100 m further, I heard a snorting sound like 'uggh.' The scat was wet, miso-colored, with numerous stone-like seeds (about 0.5 cm). A hunter with experience said it was likely bear dung.
