Around 14:00 on April 2, 2026, a man walking his dog spotted one bear, estimated about 80 cm long, on the riverbed in Terasawa, Minobu Town, Yamanashi Prefecture. According to the town, there had been no sightings since February 10, and this is the first appearance this spring; the town is urging caution.
