On 2025-11-17, the Kanto Regional Police Bureau and Agatsuma Police conducted a drone experiment to check for bears in Nakanojo Town, Gunma. They flew a drone up to 50 meters for five 10-minute flights and used video and thermal detection to focus on about 500 meters from the vacant lot toward the forest, but no bears were confirmed that day (nearby are Agatsuma Chuo High School and Nakanojo Elementary School).
