At around 06:45 on November 25, 2025, a security guard spotted one bear on the grounds of Okuetsu Meisei High School in Tomoe, Ono City, Fukui Prefecture. No injuries were reported; the bear moved downstream along the nearby Kiyotaki River. The city and the local hunting association conducted patrols and alerted residents by public announcement vehicle, and the school tightened locks, suspended use of the athletic field and after-school activities.
