While traveling from Daiki Town’s Asahihama Fishing Port toward Hiroo Town via Prefectural Route 1037, I witnessed one brown bear approximately 1.5 m long emerge from the seaside brush near the Hiroo-side area of the Monbetsu River, cross the road, and enter the mountainside brush.
