On April 11 a bear was sighted on Prefectural Route 441 in Gero City, Gifu Prefecture. The witness initially thought it was a monkey, but after zooming in realized it was a bear that appeared to be a cub; they photographed it from inside their car and the bear fled when it noticed them.
