Around 06:10 on February 18, 2025, two bears (believed to be a parent and cub), about 1.5 m and 1 m long, were seen standing in grass beside a municipal road in Shiomi, Mukawa. Police patrolled the area after the report but did not find the bears or any traces/damage; they have increased vigilance in the vicinity.
