Around 14:40 on December 15, 2025, a man in his 70s at home spotted a single bear about 1 meter long on the grounds of a residence in Shimonedeto, Tennō, Katagami City, Akita Prefecture. Gojome Police contacted relevant agencies and are patrolling and broadcasting warnings by patrol car to alert residents.
