Two Asiatic black bears (mother and cub) were sighted in a rice field in Nakajima, Inaniwa-machi, Yuzawa City. The bears fled westward toward the Minase River. The adult measured about 0.8–1.0 m in body length; the cub’s size was unknown. They were 500 m from the residential area.
