On October 27 in Genbi, Ichinoseki City, a man in his 60s was fatally attacked by a bear. DNA typing of hair samples showed the bear that attacked the man and the bear later killed near the scene were different individuals, and hair from an October 22 dog attack was also from a different individual; the city has set traps and warned residents.
