At around 08:20 on December 1, 2025, a passerby in a car spotted two bear cubs along the road near the Aterazawa Iriguchi bus stop in the Nishihara district of Uenohara City. The witness reported it to the local police box, police conducted patrols, and the city issued warnings via disaster radio and notified schools and daycare centers.
